Since 3 weeks is going on, I've decided for the first week/7days to basically make a small friending meme for this community!

Why Do You Like Quadrant(s)?:

I enjoy a more diverse range of relationships than conventional romance offers. I especially like the acknowledgement of (one kind of) trios, nonsexual relationships that matter, and the fact that relationships based on negative emotions are not necessarily bad or unhealthy. Since versions of the quadrants can be found among humans, looking at these through a Troll lens can be illuminating. Especially since humans seem to have a narrow view of romance, so there is little instruction for anything outside that.

Quadranted Ships Of Yours:

I mostly like to read other people's fanfic that aspects familiar characters into the quadrants, because it's interesting to see how authors lay out the grid.

Quadrant(s) Headcanon(s) Of Yours:

Flushed:
John Watson <3 Sherlock Holmes (in many iterations)
Frodo Baggins <3 Samwise Gamgee (in The Lord of the Rings)

Pale:
Joan Watson <> Sherlock Holmes (in Elementary)
Peregrin "Pippin" Took <> Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck (in The Lord of the Rings)

I am generally a fan of pale / queerplatonic / zucchini / aroacespec relationships.

Pitch:
Professor X <3< Magneto
Clark Kent <3< Superman (and this is a case where you can see a little trollish complexity because also Superman <3 Lois Lane)

I adore frenemies / best enemies and enemies-to-friends / enemies-to-lovers. One reason is because this is a rare case where writers acknowledge major differences of ideology instead of handwaving away romantic disputes. Pitch can very easily be read as tragic flush broken by an insurmountable rift: "All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles."

Ashen:
James T. Kirk c8 Leonard McCoy c3 Spock

I like watching characters try to solve problems, even if it's the kind that only stays solved for 5 minutes before the rivals are at each other's throats again.

I like how comparing the relationships across quadrants makes them clearer. Like if you take Merry <> Pippin, comparing them with Frodo <3 Sam, you can see that while both relationships run deep, the flavor is totally different because one is platonic while the other is much more intimate.

What Type Of Media Do You Prefer To (Create/Consume)?

I write fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I read all three, but most of the fanwork I see is fiction. I like meta, though, and write a fair bit of it. I watch fanvids occasionally but don't make them. I watch some movies and television.

There are actually canons where I like the fanwork but either haven't seen the original or hate it. More than once I've tracked down a canon because I liked its fanwork so much.

Other Interests You Have:

My main blogging topics include crowdfunding, networking, fantasy, news, science fiction, and nature.

Hobbies include birdwatching, cooking, crafts, gardening, houseplants, and photography.

People You’d Like To Meet:

I have largely given up on people, as society is so appalling nowadays that I don't enjoy going out in it much. Purely for fantasy, I think it'd be fun to stay up all night with Joss Whedon worldbuilding in the wee hours.
